Jump Fund Terms & Conditions

The official bit before the fun begins
Jump Fund is built on creativity, trust, and doing good work. These terms explain how missions, rewards, payments, content, and your relationship with Hop work.
By joining the Jump Fund, accepting a mission, submitting work, or using the Jump Fund app, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
I have read and agree to the Jump Fund Terms & Conditions. I understand that I am participating as an independent contractor, that rewards are paid only after Hop approves the work, and that content I submit may be edited, shared, and used by Hop.
These Terms & Conditions form a legally binding agreement between you and Hop Education Abroad, LLC, doing business as Hop Education Abroad ("Hop," "we," "us," or "our").
Please read them carefully—and then let's get hopping.
1. Who can become a Jump Fund?
To participate, you must:
Be at least 18 years old;
Be legally permitted to work as an independent contractor where you live and complete missions;
Provide accurate registration, identity, payment, and tax information;
Maintain an active Jump Fund account in good standing; and
Follow these terms, individual mission instructions, applicable laws, university policies, and social media platform rules.
Participation is not guaranteed. Hop may approve, decline, suspend, or end a Jump Fund's participation at its discretion, subject to applicable law.
You may not create more than one Jump Fund account, allow another person to use your account, or complete missions through someone else's account.
2. How missions work
Jump Fund opportunities may include:
Connect: Campus events, information tables, classroom presentations, QR-code leads, and other approved outreach;
Create: Original photos, videos, posts, stories, captions, or other content created and shared for Hop;
Amplify: Sharing or reposting content created by Hop or another Jump Fund;
Refer: Introducing prospective students to Hop through your unique referral link or QR code; and
Other limited-time missions announced through the app.
Each mission may have its own requirements, deadlines, evidence standards, reward structure, and approval criteria. Those mission details become part of these terms when you accept or complete the mission.
You choose whether to accept a mission. Hop does not guarantee that missions will always be available, that every Jump Fund will receive the same opportunities, or that any mission will generate a particular reward.
Unless Hop approves it in writing, you may not transfer, outsource, automate, or ask someone else to complete your mission.
3. Honest work only
Jump Fund runs on trust. Every submission must be truthful, accurate, complete, and based on work you genuinely completed.
You may not:
Submit work you did not complete;
Submit the same work more than once unless the mission permits it;
Fabricate events, presentations, leads, referrals, views, clicks, shares, engagement, or analytics;
Use bots, purchased engagement, fake accounts, engagement groups, click farms, or other artificial methods;
Manipulate screenshots, timestamps, analytics, attendance, or supporting evidence;
Submit friends, classmates, or other people as leads without their genuine interest and permission;
Create duplicate, false, or misleading student applications;
Claim credit for a student who was already actively connected with Hop unless Hop approves the referral;
Misrepresent yourself, Hop, a university, or a Hop program; or
Encourage anyone else to provide false information or artificially increase a reward.
Hop may verify submissions using app activity, QR-code records, referral information, platform analytics, event details, or direct follow-up with participants or university contacts.
Dishonest, misleading, duplicated, or unverifiable work may be rejected. Hop may also reverse related rewards, suspend or close your account, withhold unpaid amounts connected to suspected misconduct, or seek repayment of rewards obtained through fraud.
4. Mission review and approval
Submitting a mission does not automatically mean it has been approved or earned.
Hop may review:
Whether the mission requirements were met;
Whether the work was submitted on time;
Whether the evidence is complete and authentic;
The quality and appropriateness of the work;
Whether leads, referrals, or engagement can be verified;
Whether the work follows these terms and applicable laws; and
Whether the submission is suitable for Hop's audience and brand.
Hop may approve, partially approve, reject, or request additional information about a submission. Where practical, we'll explain why a mission was not approved and give you an opportunity to correct missing information.
Rewards become payable only after Hop approves them. Estimates, pending amounts, projected engagement rewards, and referral progress shown in the app are not guaranteed earnings.
5. Rewards and payment
Reward amounts vary by mission and may be fixed, performance-based, engagement-based, referral-based, or calculated using another method explained in the app.
For Create and Amplify missions, Hop may consider verified views, reach, shares, comments, saves, clicks, reposts, or other stated engagement measures. Hop may exclude engagement that appears artificial, duplicated, paid for without authorization, unverifiable, or unrelated to the intended audience.
Approved rewards are paid at the end of each calendar month through Hop's designated payment provider.
Unless a mission says otherwise:
Missions approved by Hop's monthly cutoff date will be included in that month's payment;
Missions approved after the cutoff will move into the following month's payment;
Payment processing times may vary depending on the payment provider and your financial institution;
You must provide complete and accurate payment, identity, and tax information before payment can be issued; and
Hop is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect information, payment-provider issues, banking delays, or legally required reviews.
Hop may correct calculation or administrative errors. If you receive an overpayment, duplicate payment, or reward for work later found to be fraudulent or ineligible, Hop may offset that amount against future rewards or request repayment.
Jump Fund are responsible for their own equipment, internet access, travel, supplies, and other expenses unless a mission expressly states that Hop will reimburse a specific expense. Expenses must be approved in writing before they are incurred.
6. Connect missions
Connect missions bring Hop to life on campus through approved outreach such as information tables, classroom presentations, events, and student conversations.
Before completing a Connect mission, you must:
Follow the specific mission instructions;
Obtain any university or venue permissions required;
Accurately represent Hop and its programs;
Use your assigned QR code, referral link, or approved tracking method;
Avoid pressuring students to provide information; and
Submit honest evidence that the event or activity took place.
A lead must be a real person who has knowingly expressed genuine interest in learning more about Hop. Adding someone without their knowledge or submitting random, duplicated, or purchased contact information is prohibited.
Connect rewards may be reviewed after the event and once related leads or activities have been verified.
7. Create missions
Create missions invite Jump Fund to make and share original content that captures the spirit of Hop.
Your mission may involve creating:
Photos;
Short-form or long-form videos;
Social media posts or stories;
Captions, articles, or written reflections;
Interviews or student testimonials; or
Other original digital content.
Create rewards may be based partly or entirely on verified engagement after you publish the content. This may include engagement generated by your original post and additional engagement created when Hop or another Jump Fund shares or reposts it.
The further strong content travels, the more its creator may be able to earn—but Hop does not guarantee any particular reach, engagement, or reward.
You must follow the mission's posting instructions, keep the content available for any required measurement period, and submit accurate analytics when requested.
8. Amplify missions
Amplify missions help strong content travel further.
When an Amplify mission opens, you may be invited to share, repost, or engage with content created by:
Hop;
Another Jump Fund; or
An approved Hop partner or campaign.
You must share the correct content, follow the mission instructions, and submit accurate evidence or analytics after the stated measurement period.
Your Amplify reward may be based on completing the required action, the verified engagement generated through your share, or both.
When you amplify another Jump Fund's original content, the additional verified engagement may also contribute to the original creator's reward.
9. Referral rewards
A referral is eligible only when:
The prospective student uses your unique link, QR code, or another tracking method approved by Hop;
The student is a genuine new prospective participant;
The student gives permission to share their information with Hop;
The referral can be connected to your Jump Fund account;
The student meets the requirements stated in the referral mission; and
The referral is not fraudulent, duplicated, self-referred, or already attributed to another source.
An application alone does not earn the full traveled-student reward. Unless the mission states otherwise, the full referral reward is approved only after the student has satisfied Hop's stated requirements and departed on an eligible Hop program.
If more than one Jump Fund claims the same referral, Hop will determine attribution using its records and the circumstances of the introduction.
Referral rewards may change for future referrals. Any change will not reduce a reward already approved under an accepted mission unless the underlying referral is later found to be ineligible or fraudulent.
10. Original content and ownership
Anything you submit as original work must genuinely be your own creation and must not infringe anyone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
Unless a mission specifically states otherwise, you continue to own the original content you create.
However, by submitting content to Hop, you grant Hop and its affiliates a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to:
Use, reproduce, store, edit, crop, adapt, caption, translate, combine, publish, display, distribute, repost, promote, and otherwise share the content;
Use the content on social media, websites, emails, advertisements, presentations, program materials, recruitment campaigns, and other Hop communications;
Use your approved name, social media handle, voice, image, and likeness as they appear in or alongside the content; and
Authorize Hop's university partners, service providers, and marketing partners to use the content on Hop's behalf.
In plain Hop language: you created it and you still own it, but Hop can edit, share, repost, and keep using it.
Hop does not need to request additional permission or make additional payments for these uses unless a mission expressly promises otherwise.
To the extent permitted by law, you waive any moral rights or similar rights that would prevent Hop from editing, adapting, combining, or publishing the content.
If a mission requires Hop to own the content outright or requires a separate content assignment, that requirement must be clearly stated before you accept the mission.
11. Copyright, music, and third-party material
Do not include material you do not have permission to use.
This includes:
Copyrighted music or audio;
Film, television, or sports footage;
Photographs, graphics, artwork, or videos created by someone else;
University, company, or organization logos used without permission;
Screenshots or private messages;
Course materials or presentations; and
Content copied or downloaded from another social media account.
Music, templates, fonts, stock assets, and editing tools may carry restrictions even when they are available inside a social media platform. You are responsible for making sure your submission can legally be used by Hop outside your personal account.
If approved third-party material is included, you must tell Hop what it is and provide details of the license or permission when requested.
You agree to reimburse Hop for reasonable losses, claims, or expenses resulting from your knowing use of content you did not have the right to submit, to the extent permitted by law.
12. People appearing in your content
Before submitting identifiable photos, videos, quotes, testimonials, or personal stories involving another person, you must have their informed permission.
For organized shoots, interviews, testimonials, or featured content, Hop may require a signed model or participant release.
Content featuring anyone under 18 requires advance written approval from Hop and documented permission from that person's parent or legal guardian.
Do not record or photograph people in private or sensitive situations. Do not submit content that reveals confidential educational, medical, financial, immigration, or other private information.
Hop may refuse content if the necessary permissions cannot be confirmed.
13. Safe, legal, and respectful content
Jump Fund content and activity must not depict, encourage, organize, or celebrate:
Illegal drug use or other illegal activity;
Dangerous or reckless behavior;
Underage drinking or unlawful alcohol use;
Violence, threats, harassment, hazing, or bullying;
Hate speech or discrimination;
Sexual exploitation, nudity, or sexually explicit material;
Weapons used irresponsibly;
Academic dishonesty;
Trespassing or property damage;
False, deceptive, or defamatory statements;
Violations of university rules or platform policies; or
Conduct that could reasonably place a student, Jump Fund, university, or Hop at risk.
Alcohol may appear only when lawful, responsible, relevant, and specifically permitted by the mission. Never suggest that alcohol or risky behavior is necessary for a positive study abroad experience.
Hop may reject content that is unsafe, harmful, misleading, discriminatory, excessively political, inconsistent with Hop's values, or otherwise unsuitable for its audience even if the content is technically legal.
14. Social media disclosures and honest endorsements
Jump Fund receive or may receive compensation for their work. When you post, share, recommend, review, or endorse Hop publicly, you must clearly disclose your relationship with Hop whenever required.
Use clear language such as:
#HopCampusJump Fund
#Hop
#HopEducationAbroad
The disclosure must be easy to see and understand. Do not bury it among hashtags, hide it behind "more," or rely only on vague language when the paid relationship would not otherwise be clear.
If a social media platform provides a paid-partnership or branded-content tool, use it when required but do not assume that the platform's tool replaces a clear written disclosure.
Your statements must reflect your genuine experience and opinion. Never make unsupported claims about:
Program safety;
Academics or university credit;
Admissions or acceptance;
Pricing, scholarships, or financial aid;
Housing or inclusions;
Career or personal outcomes; or
Any other important program detail.
Only share information Hop has confirmed is accurate and current.
Hop may ask you to correct or remove content that is inaccurate, outdated, insufficiently disclosed, unlawful, or inconsistent with these terms. You agree to act promptly when asked.
15. Protecting student information
You may receive names, contact details, or other information from prospective students. Use that information only to complete the relevant Hop mission.
You must not:
Sell, trade, publish, or independently market to student leads;
Add anyone to a mailing or messaging list without permission;
Store student information longer than necessary;
Share student information with friends, clubs, universities, or other organizations;
Collect sensitive information that Hop has not asked you to collect; or
Contact someone in a way that is deceptive, excessive, or unwelcome.
Whenever possible, prospective students should submit their information directly through Hop's QR code, referral link, or approved form.
You must promptly report any loss, unauthorized access, accidental sharing, or suspected misuse of personal information to welcome@hop.education.
16. Your relationship with Hop
Jump Fund participate as independent contractors, not employees, agents, partners, franchisees, or legal representatives of Hop.
This means:
You decide whether to accept available missions;
You are not guaranteed any minimum number of missions, hours, or earnings;
You generally control when, where, and how you complete accepted missions, subject to the mission requirements, applicable law, and university rules;
You may perform services for other organizations, provided doing so does not misuse Hop's confidential information or falsely suggest a Hop partnership;
You are not eligible for employee wages, overtime, paid leave, unemployment benefits, workers' compensation benefits, retirement benefits, health insurance, or other employee benefits from Hop, except where applicable law requires otherwise;
You have no authority to sign contracts, make commitments, offer discounts, collect money, promise admission or academic credit, or speak legally on Hop's behalf; and
You may not represent yourself as a Hop employee.
Nothing in these terms overrides rights that cannot legally be waived. If applicable law classifies the relationship differently, that law will control.
17. Taxes and required documentation
You are responsible for reporting Jump Fund income and paying all federal, state, local, and other taxes associated with your rewards.
Hop will not ordinarily withhold income, Social Security, Medicare, or other employment taxes from independent contractor payments.
Hop may request:
A completed Form W-9;
Your Social Security number or taxpayer identification number;
Identity verification;
Payment account information; and
Other documentation required by law or Hop's payment provider.
Hop may issue Form 1099-NEC or another applicable tax form when legally required.
Hop may pause payment if required tax, identity, or payment information is missing, inaccurate, expired, or incomplete.
You should speak with a qualified tax professional if you are unsure how Jump Fund income affects you.
18. Campus access and university rules
Being a Jump Fund does not automatically give you permission to:
Reserve rooms;
Enter or present in classrooms;
Host information tables;
Post flyers;
Hold events;
Collect student information; or
Represent Hop at your university.
You are responsible for obtaining any approvals required by your institution before completing campus-based work.
You must follow university rules concerning student organizations, solicitation, classroom access, events, branding, privacy, and commercial activity.
Do not imply that a university sponsors, endorses, approves, or has formally partnered with Hop unless Hop has expressly confirmed that relationship.
19. Brand use
Hop may give you limited permission to use approved names, logos, graphics, links, QR codes, and campaign materials for Jump Fund missions.
You may use those materials only:
While you are an active Jump Fund;
For the mission or purpose Hop approved;
In accordance with Hop's brand guidance; and
Without altering them in a misleading or damaging way.
You may not register domains, usernames, social media accounts, organizations, events, or business names containing Hop's name or branding.
You may not create advertising, purchase media, run a paid campaign, or boost Hop-related content using Hop's name or branding unless Hop approves it in writing.
Hop may withdraw permission to use its brand materials at any time.
20. Confidential information
During your participation, you may learn nonpublic information about Hop's:
Students and prospective students;
Programs and pricing;
University relationships;
Campaigns and upcoming announcements;
Technology and app features;
Business plans;
Internal communications; or
Jump Fund missions and reward structures.
You agree to keep that information confidential and use it only for approved Jump Fund work. This responsibility continues after you leave the program.
Confidential information does not include information that becomes publicly available through no fault of yours, was already lawfully known to you, or must legally be disclosed.
If disclosure is legally required, you should notify Hop in advance when legally permitted.
21. Professional and respectful conduct
Jump Fund represent the spirit of Hop when completing missions and interacting with students, universities, partners, and fellow Jump Fund.
You agree to act honestly, safely, inclusively, and respectfully.
Harassment, discrimination, retaliation, bullying, intimidation, stalking, or abusive conduct will not be tolerated.
Do not use Jump Fund activities to promote unrelated businesses, political campaigns, religious organizations, personal fundraising, or other commercial interests unless Hop approves the activity in writing.
Do not make promises or commitments on Hop's behalf. If you do not know the answer to a student's question, connect them with Hop rather than guessing.
22. Account security and app use
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity completed through your account.
Notify Hop promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
You may not:
Attempt to bypass app security;
Access another Jump Fund's account or private information;
Scrape, copy, reverse engineer, or interfere with the app;
Introduce harmful code;
Exploit errors or reward-calculation bugs; or
Use the app for an unlawful or unauthorized purpose.
If you discover a technical or reward-calculation error, report it to Hop rather than attempting to benefit from it.
23. Account suspension and termination
You may stop participating at any time.
Hop may suspend or end your participation if:
You violate these terms or a mission's requirements;
Your submissions are dishonest, unsafe, unlawful, or repeatedly incomplete;
You misuse student information or Hop's intellectual property;
Your conduct may harm students, Hop, a university partner, or the Jump Fund community;
You do not complete required tax, identity, or payment verification;
Your account is inactive; or
Hop changes or ends the Jump Fund program.
When participation ends, you must stop presenting yourself as a Jump Fund and stop using Hop's branding, confidential information, QR codes, and internal materials.
Hop will pay valid rewards approved before termination in the ordinary payment cycle.
Hop may withhold disputed amounts or rewards connected to fraud, infringement, misconduct, chargebacks, payment errors, or material violations while the matter is reviewed.
Sections concerning content rights, confidentiality, taxes, payment corrections, liability, disputes, and other provisions intended to survive will continue after termination.
24. No guaranteed results
Hop does not guarantee:
Continuous or uninterrupted access to the app;
The availability of particular missions;
Any minimum number of missions;
Any minimum level of earnings;
That content will achieve a particular level of engagement;
That a referred student will apply, enroll, or travel; or
That participation will lead to employment, academic credit, or future opportunities.
The Jump Fund program and app are provided on an "as available" basis, subject to applicable law.
25. Responsibility and liability
You are responsible for your own conduct while completing missions.
Use good judgment, follow the law, and never place yourself or anyone else in danger to complete a mission. If a situation feels unsafe, step away and contact Hop.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hop will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from participation in the program, lost engagement, missed opportunities, social media platform changes, unavailable missions, or interruptions to the app.
Hop's total liability arising from the Jump Fund program will not exceed the amount Hop paid or owed you during the six months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, except where applicable law does not allow that limitation.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
26. Your responsibility for claims
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Hop, its affiliates, and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from:
Content you submit without the necessary rights or permissions;
Your violation of law, university policy, or platform rules;
Your misuse of personal or confidential information;
Fraudulent or dishonest submissions;
Your unauthorized promises or representations; or
Your material violation of these terms.
This section does not require you to indemnify Hop for Hop's own negligence, willful misconduct, or obligations that cannot legally be transferred to you.
27. Changes to the program or these terms
Hop may update missions, reward structures, app features, eligibility requirements, or these terms as the program grows.
If a change materially affects your rights or responsibilities, Hop will provide notice through the app, email, or another reasonable method.
Changes apply from the stated effective date. They will not normally reduce a reward already approved, although Hop may correct mistakes or reverse rewards connected to fraud or ineligible work.
Continuing to participate after updated terms take effect means you accept them. If you do not agree, you must stop accepting missions and using the Jump Fund program.
28. Resolving concerns
If something does not look right—a missing fund amount, disputed referral, rejected action, or account concern—contact us at hello@hop.education within 30 days of the relevant decision.
Include enough information for us to investigate, such as:
The mission or referral involved;
The date of submission;
Relevant screenshots or analytics; and
A short explanation of the issue.
We'll review the matter in good faith and may request additional information. App records, platform analytics, referral records, payment records, and mission evidence may be used to resolve the issue.
29. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Indiana, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Before filing a formal claim, you and Hop agree to try to resolve the dispute informally. The person raising the dispute must provide written notice describing the issue and requested resolution, then allow at least 30 days for a response.
Any legal action that is not resolved informally must be brought in Indiana, and each party consents to those courts' jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
30. General terms
These terms, together with accepted mission requirements and any policies incorporated into the app, form the entire agreement between you and Hop concerning the Jump Fund.
If one provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
Hop's failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive its right to enforce it later.
You may not transfer your account or assign this agreement without Hop's written consent. Hop may assign the agreement as part of a merger, restructuring, financing, sale, or transfer of the Jump Fund program.
Headings and friendly explanations are included to make the agreement easier to follow. They do not limit the legal meaning of the provisions.
Electronic acceptance—including checking an acceptance box, selecting "I agree," or continuing into the app after the terms are presented—has the same effect as a signature where permitted by law.
